The Museum Commission operates and oversees the Delta Gateway Museum located at 210 West Main Street. This commission is an independent agency created by the City of Blytheville for the sole purpose of establishing and operating the Delta Gateway Museum. Established by city ordinance on June 19, 2007 and consisting of seven members nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the Blytheville City Council, the Museum Commission is responsible for annual budget preparation; formulation of policies and procedures; facilities maintenance; hiring and supervision of a professionally trained, full-time Director; fund raising; governance; and general administrative and financial oversight.
